HILLSBORO — The Rodger O. Borror eighth grade girls basketball team defeated Hillsboro 48-14 Monday night in the season opener.

Sami McCord led the young Lady Hurricane with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Jasmine Jamiel had 14 points, including 4 3-pointers, 4 steals and a rebound.

Olivia Veidt had 12 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals while Allie Kees had 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and a blocked shot. Karlie Morgan had 2 points, a rebound, a steal and 2 blocked shots. Sophie Blessing had 1 point and 1 rebound.

Lexi Evans, Abigail Gillman and Anna Borton also had rebounds for the Borror squad, coach Ken Fliehman said.
