The East Clinton eighth grade boys basketball team defeated Hillsboro 39-32 Saturday.

The East Clinton seventh grade was defeated 36-14. Maddix Crowe scored seven for East Clinton and Denver Day added four. Austin Kmatz chipped in with two and Aaron Rolfe made a free throw.

In the eighth grade game, East Clinton rallied from a 26-24 third quarter deficit. East Clinton trailed most of the game.

Dakota Collom led the Astros with 18 points.

Isaiah Conger had e11 and Gage Jarrell scored six. Dalton McClure and Nathan Ellis had two points each.

“This group showed a lot of determination and heart to put out this victory,” EC coach Herb Mihalik said.
