Astro freshmen win 2 on Friday, Saturday

The East Clinton freshman boys basketball team won two games Friday and Saturday.

On Saturday, the Astros were 34-24 winners over Fayetteville-Perry.

Phillip Davis had nine points to pace the EC offense.

Mitchell Bean tossed in eight points and Isiah Curtis had seven. Chris Norman contributed five points for East Clinton, now 5-8 on the year.

On Friday, the young Astros won a defensive battle over Williamsburg 16-11.

Justin Arnold led the offense with six points while Bean scored four. Norman, Davis and Curtis had two points each. Evan Stewart played well defensively against Williamsburg’s best player and came up with three steals, coach Greg Roberts said.
