Volleyball officiating classes begin July 15

A class to become a registered high school and middle school volleyball official will begin July 15.

The class will meet 6 p.m. July 15 at Damon’s Grille for its initial meeting. Joe Davis, an OHSAA official, will conduct the meeting. Future meeting dates and times will be decided at the first meeting.

Each prospective official needs 30 hours of class time and scrimmages along with passing the open book test to become a certified official. Upon completion, officials will be eligible to do middle school, freshmen and reserve games this season.

Cost is $135 for the class.
