Blan 7th, 8th grade girls take 2 from CNE

The Blanchester seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams swept a pair of games Monday with Clermont Northeastern.

The eighth grade won a close game 27-26. Coach Julie Mulvihill was pleased with the team’s hard work and perseverance.

Hailey Mulvihill had 11 points, eight rebounds, three steals and five blocked shots. Ainsley Whitaker had 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot.

Olivia Potts had six points, four rebounds, a steal and an assist. Destiny Blankenbeckler finished with a steal and a rebound. Madi Tipton chipped in with a steal. The Blan coach said Josie Wilson contributed to the win with her defensive efforts.

In the seventh grade game, Blanchester is now 5-6 on the year following a 24-15 win.

Hope Blankenbeckler had four points, three rebounds, an assist, a steal and a blocked shot. Layla Winemiller had a rebound. Macey Waldron finished with six points, six rebounds, four steals, two assists and two blocked shots.

Gracie Roy had two points, three rebounds and four steals. Payton Johnson grabbed a rebound while Abbey Irwin hauled in two rebounds. Nevaeh Griffith had two steals.

Kaylee Coyle scored 10 points, grabbed three rebounds, came up with six steals and handed out three assists. Shelbie Panetta had two points, three rebounds and four steals.
