The Blanchester 7th grade girls basketball team picked up its first win of the year Wednesday, defeating Batavia on the road, 27-13.

Lana Roy led the Ladycats with 6 points, coach Mike Cook said.

Caili Baumann, Noelani Tangonan and Maddie Wells had 4 points each. Brinli Crosley scored 3 points and the trio of Casey Kingsland, Becca Kratzer and Maddie Pohlman had 2 points each.

Coach Cook said Kratzer played a strong game offensively “not letting up” to lead the Ladycats to victory.
