WC men 6th, women 7th at Cedarville Inv.

CEDARVILLE – The Wilmington College men’s track and field team finished sixth Friday at the Cedarville Invitational indoor track and field meet.

The WC women were seventh in a field of mostly Division I and Division II schools.

Emma Burke was fifth for WC in the 200-meter dash (27.54 seconds) and Allison Helmke was 11th in the mile (5:56.63). The 4×200-meter relay of Burke, Cheyenne Rhodes, Sidney Fields and Amber LaRotonda placed third (1:55.9) while the 4×400-meter foursome of Burke, Rhodes, Katie Hughes and Fields was fourth (4:28.67).

On the men’s side, Aaron Koch was seventh in the 60-meter dash (7.42 seconds) and Elorm Dogbey was eighth in 7.49. Koch also was ninth in the 200-meter dash (23.92).

In the 4×200-meter relay, Elliot Phillimore, Koch, Dogbey and Luke Richardson ran 1:35.75, good enough for runnerup. In the 4×400, Dogbey, Taton Bertsch, Phillimore and Koch were third (3:36.56).

In the field events, Joe Shuga was eighth in the weight throw (44-11.5).

Wilmington continues its indoor season at the All-Ohio Indoor Meet hosted by Otterbein University Saturday.
