Cedarville wins matchup of former KTC rivals 64-48

CEDARVILLE – In a battle of former Kenton Trace Conference rivals, Cedarville turned back East Clinton 64-48 Saturday night in a non-league game at the Greene County gym.

East Clinton drops to 0-17 on the year. Cedarville is now 9-8.

Matt Mitchell and Branson Smith had 18 points each for the Astros. Smith scored eight of his points in the opening quarter. Mitchell had six in the first.

The Astros and Indians were tied 16-16 after one. Colby Cross had 11 points in the opening frame for Cedarville.

The East Clinton deficit was six by halftime, 35-29, and went to 49-37 after three quarters.

Cross led all scorers with 20 points. Trent Koning had 16 points for Cedarville.

The Astros were 12 of 15 from the free throw line. Mitchell was 5 for 5 at the line.
