FRANKLIN – Clinton-Massie dropped its regular-season finale, 67-48, in a battle of the Falcons at Bishop Fenwick High School.
Fenwick (14-8) jumped out to a 12-1 lead the first 3:28 of the game and never looked back.
Fenwick’s advantaged eclipsed the 20-point mark, 41-20, when it scored the first four points of the second half.
Massie got no closer than 15 the rest of the way, 49-34, with 2:41 left in the third quarter.
Fenwick’s largest lead of the game was 65-40, midway through the final period.
A.J. Braun led Fenwick with 18 points, 14 of them in the middle two quarters. Teammate C.J. Napier chipped in with 16, seven of them in the opening period.
Brendan Lamb led Massie with 12 points. Daulton Wolfe hit three threes and narrowly missed double figures with nine points.
Fenwick also won the JV game, 64-30, behind Carter Bernath’s 25 points. Austin Faucett led Massie with 15.
Massie opens tournament play at 7 p.m. Friday versus Hamilton Ross at Kettering Fairmont High School’s Trent Arena. The teams met in the tournament last year with Massie emerging victorious, 58-45.
