WC women 10th at OAC indoor meet

ADA – The Wilmington College women’s track and field team finished 10th Saturday at the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship meet at Ohio Northern University.

Otterbein win the championship.

Kayli Sullivan was ninth in the shot put (38-10.25) and Keva Cox was 15th in the high jump (4-9).

Emma Burke was seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (9.65 seconds). Brooke Gibbons was 14th in the 1,000-meter run (3:19.76).

Wilmington competed in both the 800-meter and 1,600-meter relays. Burke, Sidney Fields, Miranda Gibson and Abby Spirk finished eighth in the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:54.72.

In the 1,600-meter relay, Burke, Fields and Gibson teamed with Amber LaRotonda for a ninth-place finish in the event in 4:25.64.

On Friday, Katie Hughes was 20th in the 5,000-meter run (20:38.66).

The Fightin’ Quakers’ 4,000-meter distance medley relay team of Brooke Gibbons, Burke, Savannah Rhodes and Allison Helmke placed sixth, crossing the finish line in 13:44.25.

The Quaker will return to Ada next weekend for the Ohio Northern University Last Chance Meet on March 1-2.
