FRANKLIN – The Wilmington College softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games Sunday to Franklin, 7-6 and 13-5.

A two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning provided the host Grizzlies with the winning runs in the first game of the doubleheader.

Franklin took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the first inning, but the FC lead didn’t last long.

Pierce scored on a wild pitch, and junior Olivia Bauer (Willard, OH/Willard) singled home Trautman. Senior Megan Warren (Grove City, OH/Grove City) capped the scoring with a two-run double.

The Grizzlies reclaimed the lead with a pair of runs in the second, but an RBI single by Pierce evened the score in the third.
