Quakers ninth in OAC track, field championship

The Wilmington College men’s track and field team placed ninth in the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Wilmington College at Beckett Track in Williams Stadium.

Sophomore Pierce Burnam (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond) earned All-OAC honors in the triple jump and the 400 meter hurdles. He finished second in the 400 hurdles (53.93) and third in the triple jump (13.27 meters).

Burnam also scored in the 110 meter hurdles, placing fifth (15.41). The sophomore accounted for 19 of Wilmington’s 29.5 points.

Senior Antone Truss (Yellow Springs, OH/Yellow Springs) scored in the high jump with a seventh place finish (1.84 meters).

Wilmington 4×800 relay team of Gage Egner (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester), Griffin Stith (Batavia, OH/Batavia), Elliot Phillimore (Old Fort, OH/Old Fort) and Rick Pride placed seventh (8:31.28).

Amari Bryant (West Chester, OH/Lakota West), Burnam, Travis Scheadler (Goshen, OH/Goshen) and Gino Hinton (Maple Hts., OH/Maple Hts.) placed seventh in the 4×100 relay (43.80).

Selected members of the Wilmington College track and field team will participate in the Ron Althoff Last Chance Meet, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.
