BEXLEY – The Wilmington College men’s soccer team fell to Capital Wednesday, 2-1, in Ohio Athletic Conference action at Bernlohr Stadium.
Wilmington falls to 3-11 on the season, 0-4 in the OAC. The Quakers have lost six straight matches.
Senior Ethan Zimpfer (Botkins, OH/Botkins) scored his second goal of the season, beating the goalkeeper in a one on one situation, to give Wilmington the 1-0 lead just seven minutes into the game.
Capital gained the equalizer in the 17th minute, and scored the game-winner in the 42nd minute. The Crusaders were aggressive all night long, forcing eight offsides calls – including six in the first half.
The Fightin’ Quakers were outshot by CU 16-10, with the Crusaders having a huge 11-4 advantage.
Freshman Nick Latessa (Englewood, OH/Northmont) recorded four saves on six shots in playing all 90 minutes.
