WC women end 4-game winless streak

NEW CONCORD — The Wilmington College women’s soccer team ended is four-match winless streak Tuesday with a 4-0 triumph over Muskingum in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

The win puts the Quakers at 9-7-1 overall and 3-4-1 in OAC play.

The Muskies are 2-14-1 in all games and 1-7 in the league.

Wilmington took a 1-0 lead when Hannah Greaney blasted home a rebound from an Erika Good shot in the 15th minute.

Katie Evans found the back of the net at the far post in the 30th minute to make it 2-0 WC then Ashley Lovett scored off a Taylor Leake assist in the 37th minute.

Wilmington took a 3-0 lead into the halftime intermission.

In the second half, Stephanie Max made it 4-0 with an assist going to Taylor Scott in the 58th minute.

The Quakers had 39 shots, with 20 on goal, while the Muskies had six shots but only one on goal. WC held a 12-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Brittany Ross, the WC goalkeeper, made the save on the one shot on net.
