Matthew D. Kramer will be recommended as the next varsity boys basketball head coach at Wilmington High School.

Pending approval of the Wilmington City Schools board of education, Kramer’s hiring will be official at tonight’s meeting. In addition to coaching, he would be teaching in the English Department at WHS.

Kramer has been the head coach at Liberty Union High School in Baltimore the past two seasons.

His first varsity head coaching job came at Fairless High School in Navarre in 2000.

Kramer also has been head coach at Canton South and Milton High School in Alpharetta, Ga.

A nine-time varsity letterwinner as an athlete at Akron’s Archbishop Hoban High School, Kramer played basketball two years at the College of Wooster before finishing his bachelor’s degree at Mount Union in 1992.

If approved, Kramer would take over for Michael Nozska who is leaving Wilmington after 14 years as head coach.
