The Clinton-Massie cheerleaders placed second at the recent OASSA state cheer competition — in the Non Build Game Day Division 4 — out of 9 teams that qualified.

“I am so incredibly proud of this group!” said coach Sheri Stulz after the competition at Pickerington North High School. “They have worked so hard all year and for it finally to pay off at state makes it so fun!”

The competition team placed seventh in state out of 13 teams. “Unfortunately we had a few falls, but to place seventh with those falls I am incredibly happy!” said Stulz. “Joel (Brothers) performed some incredibly difficult skills that we had been preparing for all season. Because of our level of difficulty, I am pretty certain that is why we did so well despite two falls.

“It was our seniors’ last performance and that gave it everything they had. Everyone on this team really has stepped up this year,” she added. “The coaches are going to miss our seniors but we are already excited to get started for next season! I think this year’s tryouts for cheer are going to be even more competitive.”

The team consists of Joel Brothers, Abby Broglin, Isabella Gross, Alley Brown, Cheyanne Bare, Carley Lewis, Tess Pringnitz, Kyla Hessler, Kealey James, Sami Brown, Sydney Hudson, Lydia Cameron, Ally Co,y Reese Cockrill, Emma Collins, Lynnea Dean, Jenna Hanlon, Sierra Kenney, Shaelynn Lamb, Lissy Muterspaw, Rhea Prell, Landree Stump, Delaney Warnock, Ava Lemaster, Morgan Riggers, and Meaghan Christiansen.
