Kick-off Earth Day with spring’s first volunteer Clean-Up Wilmington event

WILMINGTON — Volunteers are needed for the first Clean-Up Wilmington event of the season set for 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday, April 23.

In the spirit of celebrating Earth Day, help kick off the “Earth Day Experience” with some pre-event clean-up activities.

Volunteers will be breaking up into four teams for this event, with all walking routes — each under 1.5 miles — beginning and ending at Sugartree Community Square, 42 W. Sugartree St.

• Downtown Routes 1 Red Team & 2 Green Team — includes Mulberry, Main, Locust, and the Luther Warren Peace Path (Bike Trail)

• Southeast Neighborhood Routes 1 Orange Team & 2 Blue Team — includes Sugartree, Doan, Grant, Hawley, Charles, S. Walnut, and S. South Streets

All equipment will be provided. Please wear comfortable closed-toe walking shoes for these activities.
