Another house comes down

A long-vacant house was demolished Tuesday morning on the 300 block of South Wall Street in Wilmington. The action is part of ongoing work by the Clinton County Land Bank. The Clinton County Land Reutilization Corporation (“Land Bank”) was established in 2016 with a mission to clean up vacant, blighted properties throughout Clinton County and return them to productive use. The Clinton County Regional Planning Commission (RPC) has been contracted to do work for the land bank, and in a recent 2019 update the RPC reported 39 blighted residential properties demolished. Thus, Tuesday’s razing means now there have been at least 40 demolitions of vacant and abandoned residential properties in the county.
