Shane C. Breckel, right, was sworn in Tuesday to remain as director of the Clinton County Board of Elections. Administering the oath of office is Clinton County Common Pleas Judge John W. “Tim” Rudduck, left. A reminder to our readers: The Board of Elections has relocated from the county courthouse to the County Annex Building, 111 South Nelson Avenue in Wilmington.

The Clinton County Board of Elections has a new deputy director: Melissa Sturgill, facing camera. In the photograph, she is being sworn in by Clinton County Common Pleas Judge John W. “Tim” Rudduck, left. Sturgill succeeds Jay Peterson, who will retire in a month after doing special operations work for the elections office in the meantime.

Here are the local elections office staffers and two board members whose four-year terms had expired prior to recent re-appointments by the Ohio Secretary of State, plus one state official. In the front row from left are Ohio Secretary of State Southwest Ohio Regional Liaison Kenneth C. Henning, Clinton County Board of Elections member Ann Reno, new Board of Elections Deputy Director Melissa Sturgill, Elections Clerk Jennifer Seward, Elections Administrator Julie Bolton, and Board of Elections Chairperson Steve E. Fricke; and in the back from left are Board of Elections member James “Jim” O. Gibson, Board of Elections Director Shane C.
