GREENVILLE, Ohio — A New Vienna man has died from injuries he received in an accident on Tuesday, according to Greenville police.

Around 7:46 a.m. Tuesday, Shawn P. Davis, a 44-year-old truck driver, was transported via CareFlight medical helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton from Beauty Systems Group (BSG) on Jaysville-St. Johns Road after he was pinned between his door and the cab of another vehicle at a loading dock, according to Greenville Police Chief Dennis Butts.

Davis was partially outside of the cab of his truck when he struck a docked trailer, causing the jack to collapse and the trailer fell and pinned Davis, the police chief said.

Davis was flown to Miami Valley Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, Butts said.

Greenville is in Darke County, about 80 miles northwest of Clinton County and northwest of Dayton.

Greenville police and Greenville fire & rescue responded to the scene of Tuesday’s accident.
