The Wilmington Public Library and Mental Health Recovery Services of Clinton and Warren Counties hosted an author chat with author Jasmine Warga the evening of Nov. 3. East Clinton High School’s book club, The Fable Guardians, had six members attend along with three community members and Mrs. Earley, East Clinton’s high school librarian.

Mrs. Warga’s book “My Heart and Other Black Holes” chronicles the story of 16-year-old Aysel and her obsession with plotting her own death. But she’s not sure she has the courage to do it alone. When she discovers a website with a section called Suicide Partners, Aysel is convinced she’s found her solution in Roman, a teenager haunted by his own family tragedy and who is looking for a suicide partner. But as their suicide pact becomes more concrete, Aysel begins to question whether she really wants to go through with it.

Ultimately, she must choose between wanting to die or trying to convince Roman to live so they can discover their potential energy together.
