BEXLEY – The Wilmington College men’s indoor track and field team finished sixth Saturday in the Jessica Starks Open on Saturday at Capital University.
Pierce Burnam crossed the finish line in 8.69 seconds to grab the title in the 60-meter hurdles while Kalvin Butts threw the weight 16.85 meters to claim first in the weight throw.
In addition to his first-place finish, Burnam also was fourth in the 400-meter dash in 52.24 second and fifth in the triple jump at 12.43 meters.
Other fifth-place finishes included Joe Holcomb shot put 14.52 meters and Gino Hinton 60-meter dash 7.09.
Wilmington continues its season Feb. 2 at the Cedarville Invitational.
