MT. ORAB — Wilmington split a pair of one-run decisions in non-league softball action Saturday at Western Brown.
The Lady Hurricane won the first game 6-5 then lost the second game 8-7.
Wilmington led 6-1 in the first game then held off the Lady Broncos. Courtney Smart pitched out of a fifth inning jam and earned the save in the victory. She also had two hits and drove in two runs at the plate.
Kelsi Bair also had two hits, including a double, and two RBI.
Madi Flint earned the pitching victory.
In the second game, Wilmington led 6-2 but was unable to hold on.
Smart again had two hits, both doubles, and drove in two runs. She is 8-for-16 in her last five games.
Hannah Chase, Hunter Toller and Meghan Fisher also had two hits each.
