BLANCHESTER — A seven-run second propelled Blanchester to 12-1 win over Felicity-Franklin Thursday in a Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division softball game at BHS.

The Ladycats are 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the National Division.

“This was a complete team effort, everyone did their job,” BHS coach Jamey Grogg said. “That is the message I have been giving them since day one. Just do your job to the best of your ability when called upon.”

Maddie Curless homered to lead off the second inning at the plate and hurled a three-hitter on the mound. Jay Dalton also homered for BHS.

Blanchester scored six of its seven runs in the second with two outs.

“Two out rallies that lead to big innings are game changers and after that (second) inning, we stayed in control,” said Grogg.

On defense, Grogg said Elecia Patton and Dalton led a strong effort.

“They were involved in eight of the 13 outs we made on defense,” Grogg said. “Routine plays have to be outs and tonight we made those plays consistently.”
