DELAWARE — Wilmington College track and field had two second-place finishers Saturday at the All-Ohio Outdoor Track and Field Championship hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
Junior Pierce Burnam finished the men’s 400-meter hurdles in a time of 53.62 seconds to earn second place. Fellow junior Antone Truss also claimed a second-place finish by clearing 1.98 meters in the men’s high jump.
Junior Lauren Stacy threw the hammer 48.28-meters and finished third. This distance was further than the previous All-Ohio meet record.
Freshman Emma Burke snagged a fourth-place finish for the women’s team with her time of 15.45 seconds in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles.
Rounding out the top-five finishes for the Fightin’ Quakers was junior Kalvin Butts who had a toss of 49.70-meters in the men’s hammer throw to earn fifth-place.
Both teams finished the championship in 14th place.
Both the men’s and women’s teams head to Muskingum University for the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Championship beginning April 28.
