WILMINGTON — The beat rolls on for the Wilmington High School softball team.
The Lady Hurricane received solid pitching from Courtney Smart and timely hitting throughout the lineup in an 8-3 South Central Ohio League win over Washington at the WHS diamond.
Wilmington has won five straight games and is 7-6 on the year. In the SCOL, WHS stands at 5-2.
Smart scattered seven hits and struck out five to pave the way for the Wilmington victory.
At the plate, leadoff hitter Hunter Toller drove in two runs as did No. 7 hitter Kacy Younker. Madi Flint and Kaylee Tackett, also at the bottom of the lineup, drove in one run each. Sophie Blessing had an RBI as well from her No. 6 position.
