ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Max Murray and Luke Chappie combined to pitch a perfect game Wednesday in Clinton-Massie’s 26-0 win over Thurgood Marshall in a Division II sectional tournament baseball game at Paul Schwamberger Field.
The Falcons are 19-7 on the year. CM coach Brian Camp said Marshall had played just 10 games prior to Wednesday.
Massie will host Monroe 5 p.m. Thursday in a second round game. Monroe defeated Meadowdale 21-3 on Wednesday.
Murray pitched the first two innings Wednesday while Chappie picked up the win by pitching the final three innings.
Camp said his team had a few hits but most of the baserunners reached by walks. The Clinton-Massie started played the first two innings. Camp had promoted five reserve players to the roster for this game.
Clinton-Massie led 11-0 after the first inning. The game did not start on time because of the late arrival of the Marshall team.
