CNE building SBAAC girls golf lead over CM, WHS

WILMINGTON — Clermont Northeastern played the Wilmington Elks 797 Golf Club like it was its home course Thursday in the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference girls golf match.

The Lady Rockets (175) won the divisional match Thursday, with Clinton-Massie (189) finishing second and Wilmington (215) third. The 215 was a season best for the Lady Hurricane.

And CNE extended its lead in the girls golf standings by 14 strokes – 757 to 781. There are two nine-hole rounds and the 18-hole league tournament still to be played.

Among county golfers, Taylor Kropp of Clinton-Massie shot a 42 and Heather Fryman of Wilmington had a 48. Marcy Ellis was East Clinton’s lone golfer and she had a 58.

Wilmington’s Carrie Robinson had a personal best 53.

Tayor Shumard of CNE was the medalist with a 38.
