The Elena Raye Clair exhibit at Thorngren Studio Arts includes a pole that rotates when pushed. The turning pole has flying birds, swimming fish and crawling spiders. Clair, in the photo’s right foreground, turns on small flash lights attached under the umbrella canopy.
Thorngren Studio Arts in downtown Wilmington presents local artist Elena Raye Clair’s 2019 works in an April 19-May 17 show titled “Look”. At Friday’s opening reception, guests in the photograph look at some of Clair’s 22 oil paintings on canvas in the gallery. At the reception there also was interactive live music featuring her son John Clair-Nease. The creative exhibit includes a pole that rotates when pushed. The turning pole has flying birds, swimming fish and crawling spiders, all on the move. In the photo, Clair can be spotted in the left background. If you missed the opening reception, the gallery is open on Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m.
