For three hours Saturday at the South South Street site of Anytime Laundry, getting laundry done was free thanks to the nonprofit Current Initiatives’ Laundry Project. Local sponsors were Larry Britain/Bennett Realty and the Wilmington Church of God, which provided free hot dogs, chips and drinks. Ten volunteers assisted by inserting quarters into the commercial washers and dryers; the detergent and dryer sheets were free, too. Within the first 90 minutes, 24 families had participated. In the photo from left are Jasper, and volunteers Robin and Ben Norman and Larry Britain, father of sponsor Larry Britain.
