WILMINGTON — Under the spotlight, the Wilmington High School wrestling team defeated Bethel-Tate 59-24 Thursday on Senior Night.
The lights were dimmed and competition was held on a single mat under a spotlight at Fred Summers Court.
WHS seniors honored prior to the match were Owen Bloom, Gage Davis, Kaison Dodge, Carson Hibbs, Thane McCoy, Darrick Perdue, Josh Snell, Thad Stuckey and Azriel Reeder.
The Hurricane won six matches by forfeit. On the mat, though, WHS was impressive. Carson Hibbs began the match with a pin in 62 seconds. After two forfeits, Elijah Hibbs had a pin in 1:53 and Dodge won by pin in 25 seconds. Gage Davis then posted an 11-1 victory.
