The Clinton-Massie eighth grade boys basketball team was defeated by Batavia 39-28 Monday in the SBAAC season-ending tournament.

The Falcons were the No. 2 seed while Batavia was No. 3. Clinton-Massie won the two meetings during the regular season.

Cobe Euton led Massie with 12 points while Corey Frisch had six, Colten Fite four, Brett Gray three, Quinn McCoy two and Colson Morgan one.

The young Falcons, coached by Clayton Morgan, finish their season 12-5.

“Batavia had a great game plan and executed it well,” Morgan said. “It (the loss) takes nothing away from our season, though. These young men continued to work hard and improve each and every week. I am so proud of each member of this squad and I’m really excited about the future of Clinton-Massie basketball.”

Clinton-Massie defeated East Clinton on Saturday, 43-19, in the tournament. Euton had a career-high 22 points against the Astros. He made four of six three-pointers and all four of his free throws.

Also for Clinton-Massie, Ty Martin had eight points, Frisch three, Micah Ruther three, Eli Robinette three, Morgan two and Eli Sheeley two.
