WILMINGTON — Demonstrations, information and free samples will be on hand when Wilmington College holds its annual Community Health & Fitness Fair on March 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the indoor turf field in WC’s Center for Sport Sciences off Elm St.
Representatives from a number of healthcare providers, public safety professionals and local businesses will be on hand to share information and promote their products and services, which are available in Clinton County and neighboring areas. This College-sponsored event is open free of charge to the greater Wilmington communities.
It’s also an opportunity for WC students to learn more about the health, wellness and fitness programs offered on campus. The first 100 visitors can earn a free t-shirt by participating. Also featured this year will be the new Teqball table on which soccer players will demonstrate how to play this unique new sport. Guests can also play pickleball and volleyball at the table.
Other WC students Elijah Brock, Jake Stein and Ethan Green, will demonstrate boxing and, specifically, how to wrap your hands for the sport. In addition, Skylar Carmichael will offer a 10-minute yoga flow and Green will lead a stationary bicycling session on Spinning bikes. Visitors also can play cornhole at their leisure.
A blood drive offered by Community Blood Center will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the nearby Quaker Recreation Center gymnasium, which shares a parking lot with the Center for Sport Sciences. Appointments can be made through its website,
