NEW CONCORD, Ohio — The Wilmington College baseball team fell to Muskingum University in a pair of games to open the Ohio Athletic Conference season Sunday for both teams. The Fighting Muskies took game one 6-5 in come-from-behind fashion and won game two 11-1 in eight innings to complete the sweep.

In game one, WC starting pitcher Aaron Boster had a no-decision but pitched well, three earned runs allowed in seven innings with eight strikeouts. Jesse Reliford took his first loss of the season in relief.

Wilmington finished with 10 hits in the game with Tyler Shaneyfelt, Reliford and Jared Lammert all having two hits each. The Wilmington offense was good enough for a 5-1 lead into the fourth inning but Muskingum rallied for the win on a bases loaded walk in the ninth.

The nightcap went in favor of Muskingum right from the start. Evan Kelsey and Evan Eilerman had two hits for Wilmington.

Wilmington (8-10, 0-2 OAC) heads to Wittenberg Tuesday.
