WILMINGTON — Logan Camp scored four goals and Wilmington topped Clinton-Massie 10-3 Thursday in the “Lacrosse Town Shootout XV” at Alumni Field.

The Hurricane, 3-2 on the year, will be off until April 12 against Tipp City. Game time 7 p.m.

“This was a decisive win for us going in to spring break,” WHS coach Adam Shultz said.

Manny Castillo had three goals and Nino Gonzalez added two for the Hurricane. Jelani Hunter also scored a goal and had an assists. Other assists were credited to Jon Custis, Camp and Castillo.

“Our faceoffs and rides were firing on all cylinders,” Shultz said. “That gave our offense extra possessions and scoring opportunities. This puts the other offense in such a disadvantage. It’s difficult for the offense to develop rhythm and tempo with limited touches.”

Clinton-Massie head coach Dave Voisey was pleased with his young squad.

“Although we lost the game, we are excited how well our freshman and sophomore starters played,” he said. “Sophomore goalie James Brooks had another great game saving the ball over 20 times. Wilmington has some talented seniors that know how to shoot.”
