DELAWARE, Ohio — JJ Durr set the Wilmington College men’s track and field record in the hammer throw at the Outdoor All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University Saturday.

Durr won the event with a heave of 197-2, breaking the old school record 193-7 set by Mason Metts just shy of a decade ago. Three other Quakers also scored in the hammer throw as Nathan Borgan finished second (185-10), Nate Marcum was fifth (173-4) and Andrew Pacifico was sixth (171-7).

In track events, Wilmington had two top-three finishers in the 5,000-meter run as Noah Tobin won the race by crossing the finish line in 15:24.17. Teammate Tate Yoder finished roughly four seconds behind (15:28.57) in third place.

Dane Klosterman earned the team points in two hurdle events, finishing fifth in both the 110-meter hurdles (15.73 seconds) and the 400-meter hurdles (56.62 seconds). Klosterman and Yoder teamed with Jalaun Covington and Samuel Alexander to finish eighth in the 4×400-meter run with a time of 3:37.25.

Wilmington will compete at both the Jesse Owens Invitational (Friday) and the Mount St. Joseph Invitational (Saturday) this week.
