Clinton-Massie wrapped up its second straight 10-0 SBAAC American Division regular season Tuesday with a 5-0 win over Goshen.

The Falcons defeated Batavia 4-1 on Monday.

Massie has won 20 straight league matches, dating back to the season finale in 2021 when it lost to Batavia.

SBAAC American Division schools will descend on Wilmington High School 9 a.m. Thursday for the league tournament.

”The team is looking very strong going into the tournament and they are considering any adjustments they need to make against each opponent,” Massie coach Julie Kirby said. “They are smart players and deserve to go far this season. Following last season they continued to put in the work so that they could have another successful season this year.”

Maria Jones at second singles and Elle Dunham and Noel Gasaway at second doubles are unbeaten against league rivals this season.

Addison Swope at first singles and Mikayla Wonderly and Brylie Green at first doubles have just one league loss. Lilly Logsdon has two league losses.

“The girls go out and just play good tennis,” said Kirby. “I think they are more interesting to watch this year as their rallies are stronger and they are applying even more strategy to their game.”

On Monday, wins for Massie came from Swope at first singles, Jones at second singles, as well as doubles teams Brylie Green and Mikayla Wonderly at first and Elle Dunham and Noel Gasaway at second.

Junior varsity players Emma Evereitt, Alyssa Lorenz, Ellie Smith and Paige Oberweiser also had an excellent night on the court, “proving that we are constantly building our program,” said Kirby.

On Tuesday, wins were Swope at first singles, Jones at second singles, Lilly Logsdon at third singles and then doubles teams Brylie Green and Mikayla Wonderly at first and Elle Dunham and Noel Gasaway at second.

Dakota Cartner won her JV match 8-1. Kirby said Cartner is a strong, rising player and I am excited to see her next season, She is constantly learning and growing as a player.
