Free dinner at Blan’s Grace UMC

Grace United Methodist Church in Blanchester will host a free dinner for the community from 4:30-6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 26 in the Fellowship Hall of the church. The church extends a warm welcome to anyone in the community to enjoy a delicious meal of: meatloaf, cheesy potatoes, green beans, rolls, salad, desserts and drinks; plus, a chance to visit with their neighbors, and listen to the musical stylings of Pastor Dean. Clean-Up Wilmington crew to hold ‘Make a Difference Day’

On Oct. 28, the Clean-Up Wilmington crew will hold “Make a Difference Day” from 9 a.m. to noon in the City of Wilmington municipal building parking lot. Volunteers will be cleaning around the downtown area in anticipation of all the weekend events. Those interested can follow Clean-Up Wilmington on its Facebook page. Downtown Wilmington’s Merchant Trick or Treat

Downtown Wilmington is hosting its annual Merchant Trick or Treat event on Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, starting at the Eagles, where participants will pick up a trick or treat bag sponsored by Timbertech. There are 29 stops, with participating merchants giving out candy and treats, along with activities like an inflatable slide, dance party, catwalk, and face painting. It’s a great family-friendly event for Halloween enthusiasts of all ages, co-sponsored by the Murphy Theatre.

Sabina Trunk or Treat

Join the Sabina Church of Christ for a Trunk or Treat event on Oct. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. It’s a fun and safe way for kids to enjoy Halloween festivities.

Wilmington’s “Trunk or Treat” event Returns to J. W. Denver Williams Memorial Park:

The City of Wilmington Parks and Recreation is hosting a “Trunk or Treat” event at J. W. Denver Williams Memorial Park on Oct. 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. This year’s event will offer expanded fun and treats from local businesses and organizations and is located around the park’s flag and memorial area. Limited parking will be available near the event, with overflow parking accessible from Fife Avenue. Clinton County Community Band: Symphonic Spooktacular

Enjoy the Clinton County Community Band’s Halloween Concert on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $7 at the door.

Annual Trunk or Treat by CWJFD: A Halloween Extravaganza

Mark your calendars for the the Clinton-Warren Joint Fire District’s (CWJFD) annual Trunk or Treat event. Join the fun at 82 Spring Hill Rd, Clarksville, opposite the post office, on Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. This spooktacular event features a pod/vehicle decorating contest with first and second place prizes up for grabs. Get creative and showcase your best Halloween spirit. Want to participate? Set-up begins at 3 p.m. Spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, with larger pods arranged where they fit best. Secure your spot by reserving in person or by contacting the station beforehand.

Blanchester Exchange Trunk or Treat

This is a free event located at 203 W. Wright St., Blanchester. Blanchester is gearing up for a spooktacular Halloween celebration with its annual “Trunk or Treat” event. On Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., all are invited to 203 W. Wright St. in Blanchester for a night of family-friendly fun.

Blan Booklovers to hold discussion group

The next meeting of Booklovers, a Blanchester area book discussion group, will be held at Blanchester Public Library, 110 N. Broadway St. at 7 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 2. The book the group will be discussing is “Two Nights in Lisbon” by Chris Pavone. Anyone interested in participating may call the library at (937) 783-3585 to get a copy of the book. Soup & chili luncheon fundraiser set to benefit homeless shelter

The annual soup and chili luncheon fundraiser to benefit the Clinton County Homeless Shelter is set for Friday, Nov. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robert Moyer Community Room in the Wilmington Municipal Building. Lunch will include homemade soups, chili, dessert and a drink. The cost is any donation individuals wish to make. Donations will be accepted at the door. All proceeds directly benefit the shelter.

Friends of Clarksville Chili Cook-off to be held

The second-annual Friends of Clarksville Chili Cook-off will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Vernon Township Gym, located at 228 E. Main St., Clarksville. There will be kids’ games and goodie walks, a pie and cake auction, raffles and a 50/50. The magician “IncrediBret” will be performing magic tricks from 6-6:45 p.m. Hot dogs, chips, chili and chips will be available. You can enter your prize winning chili at the event or contact Cindy Stenger at [email protected]. All proceeds will go to support the Friends of Clarksville Mission: “Building Community, Restoring Hope and Growing Our Future.”
