OAKWOOD — Clinton-Massie lost a heartbreaker to Oakwood 36-34 Tuesday night.

The Falcon wrestlers also defeated Dayton Christian 60-12 in the tri-match at Oakwood High School.

“We did really well against Dayton Christian and lost a tight one to Oakwood,” CM coach Spencer Running said.

The Oakwood match came down to 285 where Elijah Groh went against 2023 state qualifier Carter Stack. Groh has been rarely challenged at 215 so he moved up to face Stack despite the weight differential but was pinned in the first period.

“It was an exciting match that could have gone either way but didn’t fall our way this time,” Running said.
