Great Scott: EC junior pitches, hits Astros to back-to-back wins

LEES CREEK — East Clinton defeated Cedarville 4-0 Wednesday in non-league softball action on the EC diamond for its second straight win.

On Tuesday in West Union, Chloe Scott had four hits at the plate and struck out 16 in the circle in East Clinton’s 9-8 win.

Scott gave up just five hits and two walks. All eight runs were unearned, according to the SBAAC website.

Sydney Beiting had two hits, scored two runs, drove in two runs and stole three bases. Taylor Barton and Novalee Dotson both had a hit, scored a run, drove in a run and stole a base.

Megan Hadley had two hits, scored a run and stole a base. Anna Lopez had a single. Cheyenne Reed had a single and drove in two runs. Abi Reynolds had a hit, scored a run and stole a base.

On Wednesday against the former Kenton Trace Conference rival, East Clinton had just two hits and walked twice but managed the shutout win.

Scott was again strong with seven innings in the circle. She had 13 strikeouts, walked one and gave up two hits in the shutout.

At the plate, Scott had a double, scored a run, drove in a run and stole a base. Ashlyn Tate scored a run as well.

Dotson had an RBI and scored a run. Hadley tripled, scored and knocked in a run.
