A memorial to Paul Hunter followed by the planting of a tree dedicated to him at Hunter Glen nature preserve — for which Hunter was the land steward for many years — was held Saturday afternoon in Wilmington. The 2.4-acre parcel is located located between Bernice and Randolph streets and the property of Cornerstone Baptist Church, with access from both sides. Members of the Hunter family and of Cardinal Land Conservancy, Inc., which hosted the event, participated. The event was followed later by a Service Day at its Todd’s Fork Preserve, a 225-acre woods at the corner of North Nelson Avenue and Center Road. The day concluded with an earth Day Dinner held at the Wilmington City Building featuring a guest speaker, naturalist Bob Thobaben.
