WILMINGTON — Authorities are seeking the public’s help as they investigate an armed robbery early Saturday.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on a report of a robbery in progress at the Shell gas station on State Route 73 West. The suspect came into the station armed with a shotgun and ordered the employee at the station get down on the floor.
According to the report, the suspect stole $1,300 in cash and nothing else. The report lists a 49-year-old West Chester male as a victim and a subject from Columbus was listed as a reportee.
CCSO Col. Brian Prickett told the News Journal that the suspect was described as an older Caucasian male with salt and pepper-colored facial hair. The suspect was able to conceal his face from security cameras with a hat pulled down over his face.
“He did a pretty good job of hiding his face,” said Prickett.
Prickett was not able to provide further details on where the suspect was heading when he left.
Prickett asks that if anyone has information on the suspect or the robbery to call the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office at 937-382-1611 or report it through their crime tip line at their website, clintonsheriff.com/crime-tipline .
