LEES CREEK — With a 3-0 win over Fayetteville Wednesday in non-league volleyball action, East Clinton improved its record to 3-1 on the year.

The Astros may have had a little bit of a letdown following a big win over Clinton-Massie the night before.

“We did not play our best game, but a win is a win,” EC coach Sarah Sodini said. “Gracie Boggs had an amazing defensive game at the net and Lydia Kessler played well in the back row.

“The Evanshine sisters (Gracie and Libby) hit very well (in this match).”

Statistically, Alexis Rolfe had four digs and Kessler had six digs. Lauren Hadley had an assist while Lanie Clark had a kill and a dig. Mckenzie Pence chipped in with a kill. Gracie Boggs blocked four attacks at the net.

Gracie Evanshine had four aces, nine kills and eight digs. Libby Evanshine had two aces, 22 kills and six digs. Katrina Bowman had two aces, a kill, 21 assists, two blocks and two digs. Kami Whiteaker contributed two aces, a kill and a dig. Jericka Boggs totaled 11 assists and four digs.
