NEW RICHMOND — Lleyton Flamm pitched a perfect game and struck out 15 as New Richmond defeated East Clinton 8-0 Saturday in the season opening baseball game for the Astros.
“New Richmond was a solid team; Flamm was outstanding,” said EC coach Brian Carey. “It’s tough being on the losing end of a perfect game but he absolutely pitched a great game. We did everything in our power to try and end it but their defense played (well) behind him.”
Carey said Flamm had five pitches in an at-bat twice in the game, both against Isaiah Curtis. Flamm threw 78 pitches, 63 of which were strikes.
