LEES CREEK — The East Clinton junior high school boys track and field team defeated Fayetteville and Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror Middle School in a meet Wednesday.
Brendon Walters broke his own East Clinton record in the discus with a toss of 126-5.
Braydon Dotson was fourth in the discus with a throw of 89-4.
Eric Batson won the shot put with an effort of 38-0 while Matthew Mitchell was second (35-10) and Kwaid Baker was fourth (31-5).
East Clinton had three of the top four high jumpers — John Cline was first at 4-8, Eric Batson second and Matthew Mitchell fourth.
Cline also won the long jump at 14-2 and was first in the 110-meter hurdles in a personal best time of 16.4 seconds.
In the 100-meter dash, Patrick Dotson was first in 12.9 second and Todd Wedding fourth in 13.2.
The boys 4×400-meter relay team finished first. The 4×100- and 4×200-meter relay teams were both runnersups.
In the 400-meter dash, Patrick Dotson was first in 62 seconds. Aiden Henson was third in the 800 in 2:52 and Avery Wood was fourth in 2:54.
In the 200-meter dash, Wedding was first in 28.7 seconds. Henson was second in the 1,600-meter run with teammates Wood third and Jacob Howard fourth.
Blake Williams was second in the 200-meter hurdles in 36.6 seconds.
