LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Wilmington College sophomore Savannah Hooper was named second team All-Central Region by the National Faspitch Coaches Association.
Hooper, a Wilmington High School graduate, was named second team All-Central Region as an at-large selection. It marks the first time since Caitlin Shilling earned first team honors and Danielle Monnier earned third team honers in 2014.
“Savannah had a great season,” said Wilmington head coach Beth Floyd. “She is a tremendous player that holds herself and others to high standards. She is very deserving of this award, and I am extremely blessed to get to be her coach. She is a remarkable young lady.”
Hooper, who was named WC’s Female Athlete of the Year, finished third in the OAC with a Wilmington-best .472 batting average, which is the third-highest average all-time at Wilmington College.
The sophomore outfielder also finished fourth in the OAC with 20 stolen bases. Hooper’s 50 hits are third all-time in school history.
Hooper also was named second team All-Ohio Athletic Conference, Academic All-OAC and CoSIDA Academic All-District.
