BLANCHESTER — American Showa Inc., which has a plant in Blanchester, was chosen as the first-place winner in the 500-1,499 employees category for the Healthiest Employers of Greater Cincinnati.
The Cincinnati Business Courier announced the winners of this year’s Healthiest Employers awards at a breakfast event on Tuesday at Xavier University’s Cintas Center.
The awards honor companies that are setting the pace in workplace health and wellness throughout the Tri-State. Five companies were chosen as winners from 28 finalists in five size categories. The other winners were: 2-99 employees, Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber; 100-499 employees, McGohan Brabender; 1,500-4,999 employees, Total Quality Logistics; and 5,000 or more employees, GE Aviation.
American Showa (ASI) is a U.S. company, and is a subsidiary of SHOWA Corporation in Saitama, Japan. ASI is a member of a network of automotive parts suppliers in the Midwest that specializes in the development and manufacture of shock absorber and power steering systems for two- and four-wheeled vehicles.
