Orcutt on Fantasy: Waiver wire options for this week

0

We made it through Week 4 but not without injuries and underperformances. If you have had injuries or you are looking for a player to add to your team because you had some under-performing players, then I am here for you.

I will give in names to pickup on your teams and beside each name I will put a percentage beside that name. This will be a percentage of which that player is being rostered using Yahoo rosters. These are in no particular order; they are laid out by position.

Running Back

Jaleel McLaughlin (3%) Running Back Javonte Williams left the game against the Bears with a hip flexor, and it is unknown at this time if he will miss time and how much time. He basically spilt time at RB with Samaje Perine (52%) after the injury. I think this becomes a Running Back By Committee (RBBC) but it could very well be where McLaughlin moves right into Williams role and Perine keeps his short-yardage role. If Williams misses time, McLaughlin looked like he a little more juice in the tank and could provide a spark to this offense.

Tyjae Spears (24%) Spears has been involved in this offense as sort of a thunder and lightening to Derrick Henry. Spears has put-up double-digit fantasy points in the last three games. If you are a Henry owner, this is a must add, if you want a player that you can plug in and give you 10 points, then this is a priority add.

Other RBs to consider: Deuce Vaughn (6%), Ke’Shawn Vaughn (0%), Devin Singletary (15%)

Wide Receivers

Jameson Williams (32%) If he is available, he will be the hot add. The Lions need a second WR behind Amon-Ra St. Brown. Williams is coming off his 4 game (reduced from 6) suspension for gambling and a hamstring injury. He provides a big-play ability that can help the Lions. I would wait a week though before putting him in your lineup if you can.

Michael Wilson (1%) This add makes me happy as a I tried to grab him on most of my dynasty rosters. In Week 4 he caught all 7 targets for 76 yards and 2 TDs. His share of the offense has grown each week. This team is playing from behind and their QB Dobbs needs a WR that he can count on other than Marquise Brown. I think Wilson is that guy.

Other WRs to consider: Tyler Boyd (37%), Trey Palmer (0%) Wan’Dale Robinson (4%)

Tight End

Jake Ferguson (53%) Ferguson has been active in the Cowboys offense and has put-up double-digit fantasy points twice in four weeks. If he can continue to gain the trust of Dak Prescott as a reliable target over the middle of the field, then he can be a part of your lineup.

Dalton Schultz (36%) He may have been dropped in your league because he got off to a slow start with the slow start of this offense, but if he’s available, pick him up. CJ Stroud is thinking big picture when he drops back to throw and that is big fast WRs, not slow plodding TEs, but this offense evolves more and more every day and once defenses learn to take away the big WR threat, Stroud will have to adjust and throw underneath.

Other TEs to consider: Logan Thomas (6%), Gerald Everett (34%), Cole Kmet (54%)

Quarterback

Matt Stafford (50%) Stafford has been a pleasant surprise if you picked him up and have used him this season. He has averaged 20 points per game this season and he gets back his favorite WR target Cooper Kupp in a Week or two. If you need help at QB or just a Burrow temporary replacement, then I would look at Stafford.

CJ Stroud (47%) Stroud has made strides as a starter and has put up an average of 25 points per game this season. He is playing behind a makeshift offensive line, so his numbers will still be hit or miss but if you need a QB to stream, Stroud could be your man.

Other QB to consider: CJ Stroud (21%), Sam Howell (21%), Mac Jones (19%)
