ADAMS TOWNSHIP — In a game shortened by inclement weather, the Clinton-Massie softball team remained unbeaten with a 4-0 win over Wilmington in South Central Ohio League action at the CM diamond.
The Lady Falcons are 5-0 overall and 3-0 in league play. The Lady Hurricane is 2-4 overall, 1-1 in the SCOL.
The game was called in the fifth inning because of lightning.
“We were happy to get this game in,” CM coach Anthony Lauer said. “We normally hit the ball pretty well but tonight we just couldn’t get the hits. We had five hits, which is unlike us.”
WHS pitcher Courtney Smart had a solid outing despite taking the loss.
Taylor Florea was the winning pitcher for the Lady Falcons, striking out four and allowing two hits in five innings.
Coach Lauer said Madi Newton “had some very nice plays at second base” in the win.
