BLANCHESTER – The Blanchester girls tennis team picked up its first win of the season Thursday with a 4-1 win over Bethel-Tate in SBAAC National Division action on the BHS courts.
Blanchester improves to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in the National Division.
“It was nice to finally have a team victory to show for our improvement,” BHS coach Matt Sexton said. “Even though Bethel-Tate had only five, those girls played well. Kayla (Allen) did a nice job overcoming a rough patch in the middle of the match to get her first victory of the season. I really like the pairing of Elecia (Patton) and Annie (Trovillo) at first doubles. They got better as the match went on and played a strong third set.”
Patton and Trovillo came back from a set down to win 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 6-2. Kayla Allen won in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.
